Music and snowboarding have always been intertwined. Like PB&J or beer and cigs, tunes and shredding go perfectly hand in hand. The nostalgia that hits you when you hear a song from your favourite video part, the visceral reaction from the pump up track you and the homies always bump in the gondy, the hazy memories of belting out a ballad at après karaoke- songs act as cultural markers, every moment in snowboarding has a soundtrack to go with it. 

Introducing Pass The Aux Cord, a new feature that hits up your favourite riders to create a 10-song thematic playlist. As the debut release and to celebrate the launch of meltdownmag.com, we thought ‘Songs To Get The Party Started’ was the perfect concept. 

We plugged in with official vibe cultivator Henna Ikola for this first edition. Finnish by birth, but Henna’s just getting started; she’s got a bag of tricks deeper than the Mariana Trench, more flow than the Yangtze River and a rail game so lethal it should come with a warning label.
